Chenrezig is depicted in a variety of ways, with differing numbers of faces and arms, and adorned with different colors and decorations. He is seated on a lotus flower, with a flat moon disc beneath him and a second moon disk behind, symbolizing his perfect purity.
THe has his hands in a prayerful pose, grasping a gem that is said to grant wishes. His left hand holds a lotus flower and his right hand holds a string of beads which he is using to keep track of his mantra recitations.
